The Sweetest Day is celebrated every 3rd Saturday in October and lands on the 19th this year. It is a simple reminder that one nice gesture can affect someone’s day, or even life. I found the history of the sweetest day to be remarkable. It originated in Ohio because one man wanted to bring cheer to the less fortunate by giving candy and gifts. This small gesture that happened in the 1920’s created a holiday that is now recognized nationwide!
This year, celebrate the Sweetest Day by doing a random acts of kindness or letting your loved one know how much you care about them. Today, give a stranger a smile, volunteer your time for a good cause, write a love note; anything goes for the Sweetest Day.
