Who do you call first?
When it’s safe to do so, call your insurance company first to report damages to your home. It’s also a good idea to take the necessary steps to protect your property from further damage.
You will be assigned a claims adjuster to handle your case. It’s important to know that the insurance adjuster will be different from your insurance agent. It will be the adjuster and not the agent who will determine if a claim will be covered under the policy and what benefits will be paid, if any.
