- Never use a grill indoors or in a garage
- Only use charcoal lighter fluid
- Use a fire extinguisher or baking soda for grease fires
- Keep a bucket of water or garden hose close for emergencies
- Douse used fireworks before discarding
- Never allow children to play with or ignite fireworks
- Never try to re-light fireworks
- Only use fireworks outdoors
- Light fireworks one at a time, then move back quickly
